Tangra Wok is bringing its blend of Indian and Chinese delights to everyone in Queens, from the doctors who come in from nearby St. John’s Hospital to the young couples who are seeking an elegant restaurant with great food.

Opening its doors in December of last year, Tangra Wok not only provides great service and food in its Rego Park location, but also caters for parties and weddings. Powered by the culinary magnificence of Tibetan chef Tashi Tsering, the fusion restaurant brings together two cultures and mixes it all onto one fine dish.

From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, Tangra Wok has a number of lunch specials, priced at $7.95 for non-vegetarian items and $6.95 for vegetarian items. These specials come with a spring roll, the vegetable of the day, one entrée, and fried rice. Your entrée choices on the lunch special list include chili chicken, steamed tofu with vegetables, lamb, and chicken with eggplant. Another delicious choice on the menu is the paneer, which is a soft, flavor-filled cheese.

When starting out for the dinner menu, an appetizer is essential to the experience. Some delicious appetizers include the Gobi Manchurian cauliflower dish, Chicken Lollipop, or shrimp with pepper salt. Spicy appetizers and meals are identified by stars next to the title, with items that pack a little more heat receiving more stars. Tangra Wok also serves 11 different soups, including sweet corn and spicy lemon coriander soup.

The restaurant’s selective bar offers a number of Indian beers, including Taj Mahal, Golden Eagle and Maharaja. There is also a wide range of wines to choose from.

The list of entrees seems to go on forever, as Tangra Wok has a number of delicious dishes of lamb, chicken, seafood, and Thai specials. There is also an extensive vegetarian menu that features a number of vintage Tangra Wok selections. Dishes that are sure to please appetites of those not looking to chow down on a meat dish include Paneer Manchurian and Szechwan, and Tofu with Vegetables in Black Bean Sauce.

When it comes time to order dessert, Tangra Wok does sweets like no other. There is rasmalai (Indian cottage cheese), gulabjamun (fried cottage cheese), ice cream, and pancakes topped with ice cream.

As the fall holidays are right around the corner, Tangra Wok plans to offer a number of great specials for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. In the works is a special turkey dish, as well as crab and lobster for the upcoming holidays.
