JJ & J’s cooks its dishes with a Southern flair that you’ve just got to taste. It’s all soul food at this restaurant, with the meats being served with collard greens, corn, okra and candied yams cooked in coconut cream.

Breakfast is the typical sausage and eggs, and is served with home fries or grits for $4. Eggs with turkey sausage cost $5.25 and you can get them with beef sausage for $6.50.

Pancakes are served with fried chicken ($7.50), with sausage ($5.50) or plain for $3. To shake things up a bit you could order banana, strawberry or blueberry pancakes for $5.

Delicious omelets are made to order and the choices include Western and veggie, served with home fries or grits for $5.50.

Hearty eaters may order salmon croquettes and eggs with home fries or grits for $7 or whiting fish with home fries and grits for $5.

Lunch specials are served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday to Friday and cost only $6.25. Enjoy fried or smothered chicken, fried chicken wings or fried turkey wings served with any two sides, soup or salad, biscuit and bread pudding or Jell-O for dessert.

A large variety of sandwiches are made to order and range in price from $1.25 to $6. Order fried chicken sandwich ($5), turkey burger ($3) turkey burger served with fries ($4.75), cheeseburger ($3) cheeseburger with fries ($4.75) or egg sandwich ($1.25).

For dinner, order smothered chicken, barbequed chicken, chicken and dumplings, or fish and spend between $7 and $8.

Side orders include soup ($1.25), French fries ($1.50) macaroni and cheese ($2.50) and biscuits or bread ($.75).

For dessert, there is a lot to choose from: delicious peach cobbler, banana pudding, sweet potato pie, chocolate cake, coconut cake and apple pie. Desserts are priced from $1.50 to $2.50.

Beverages include lemonade, iced tea or herbal tea for only $1.50 each.
