The Place For Pastrami

DELI MASTERS
184-02 Horace Harding Expressway
Phone: 718-353-3030

The smell of salami drifting from the hanging slabs of meat at Deli Masters kosher restaurant and deli on Horace Harding Expressway make it the quintessential neighborhood sandwich place along with the friendly greetings from behind the meat counter. From Coney Island Knish to a chopped liver appetizer to macaroni and potatoe salad, Deli Masters is the place for both a sit-down lunch or picnic-basket packing. With choices like Stuffed Derma “with gravy like grandma’s but no heartburn,” and the “I Don’t Know Platter” that lets you combine a few appetizers like tongue polonaise, fried kreplach, and stuffed cabbage, customers feel like they’re eating in mom’s kitchen with a touch of home in each entrée.

A hefty pastrami sandwich is the most popular selection, and for cold-cut lovers the Triple Decker Sky Scrapers let you pile on the corned beef, turkey and other deli delights. The menu offers Israeli Specialties such as Chicken Shish Kebab and Beef Kabab and also include Vegetarian plates like Hummus, Eggplant Picant and Israeli Ve Salad. While dinner menu choices range from $11.95 to $15.95, sides and sandwiches are priced between $4 and $10. You can top off your meal with some desert favorites like chocolate blackout cake, apple strudel, rugalach and Jell-O. The Kids Corner whips up mini versions of the jaw jamming san-wans in the form of bologna and salami. Other items worth a nibble include knockwurst on a bun ($6.95), chicken cacciatore ($11.95), or goulash ($11.95). If you want a traditional bite to eat, check out the BBQ Burger ($6.45), the 6-ounce-Steak Burger ($5.95) or the colossal Deli Master Burger ($10.95) loaded with lettuce, tomato, and pastrami. After a meal, you can head over to the olive-jarred counter and pick up some potato pancake, onion rings or vegetable patties or other deli treats for a feast at home.
