Up For A Challenge

Daniella
Home: Rego Park
Age: 20
Height: 5’ 5"
Weight: 115 lbs
Stats: 34-25-30

Her OneModelPlace.com Web page says Daniella is “A girl up for a challenge and something new.” That comes as no surprise.

This Rego Park beauty has only been at the modeling game for a couple of months, and is still trying to get her feet wet, but is enjoying the ride all the same.

“I had a couple of people telling me that I should try out modeling,” said this student tough dynamo, who is a junior at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

“I’ve had a couple of photo shoots, and it’s been great,” Daniella said. “It is a great side hobby.”

And a hobby it is; after all, Daniella envisions herself going into private investigations. This criminal justice major has her eyes set on bringing creeps to justice. She admits that the that the modeling “is a thing to do for fun.”

Daniella grew up in Long Island, attending private school out there before moving to Queens three years ago.
Since then she has found herself spending time on Austin Street to go shopping or just hanging out at her friends’ apartments.

We’re going to have to start committing more crimes here at QConf – maybe some day Daniella will come arrest us.

Model Of Queens Revisted

At a recent Benefit HIV/AIDS Fashion Show at Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology formally known as The College of Aeronautics located in Astoria, former QConf Model of Queens (11/12/04) Stephine Rodriguez was one of the gals who strut her stuff. Keep watching this upcoming Queens hottie -- not too dificult!

Rush The Bank

Russell Simmons

Hip-hop entrepreneur and Queens native Russell Simmons has expanded his empire with a prepaid debit card for the millions of people who do not use banks.

The Rush Card, as it is named, has a Visa logo on it and is aimed at those who use check-cashing stores, money orders or simply cash instead of banks, according published reports.

The card which is available online at www.babyphat.com, also works as a payroll card for people who do not have a bank account. It's being used by companies such as McDonald’s, Blockbuster, and Sears.

Got Fat Nick's Mom's Number?

Maria Minucci, mother of Howard Beach defendant Nicholas “Fat Nick” Minucci, did her best to flush out reporters and columnists who hounded her on the first day of her son’s hate crime trial at Queens Supreme Court.

When NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser and a slew of newshounds followed Minucci and a friend into a courthouse bathroom, Mama Minucci quickly locked herself in a stall – shouting for the press to “leave her alone.”

When Peyser asked Minucci – through the stall door – if she thought her son had lost a lot of weight since his arrest, the friend piped up, “We’re here for two reasons, ONE and TWO. Get it? Now go!”

The answer didn’t work, though. The group waited, and followed Minucci and her friend back into the courtroom. We heard a flush, but we don’t know if it was due to reason one or two.

Tony’s Tough Guy Troubles

The Sopranos have real-life trouble with the law.

“The Sopranos,” that lovable mafia show filmed in part at Silvercup Studios, on the streets of Queens and in some other neighborhoods in the City and New Jersey, has been getting some extra press this season – not for its terrific plotlines, but for the real-life shenanigans of its cast.

Louis Gross, who plays muscle-bound Perry Annunziata, aka Muscles Marinara, came to Queens court recently to explain why he kicked down his former landlady’s door and stole some of her goods.

Turns out that the former landlady is actually a former girlfriend, and that the goods were actually his – he’ll still have to face the charges related to the break-in.

John Ventimiglia, who plays beleaguered chef Artie Bucco, was busted for drunk driving and being in possession of a little cocaine in Brooklyn last week.

Even Tony Soprano himself, James Gandolfini, got knocked for a loop recently when he was riding his Vespa on Hudson Street and crashed into an opening taxi door.

Good thing there’s only one more season after this. With Robert Iler’s drug charges a few years ago, Lillo Brancatto murder rap against a cop and Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore’s plea to beating his girlfriend, who knows which cast member is next on the hit list.

Prom Queen

Alicia Keys

Queens’ Alicia Keys has donated the designer dress she wore to the NAACP Image Awards to an 18 year-old high school girl to wear at her prom night.

Maloune Samuel, a student at Washington Irving High School in Manhattan, won an essay contest in which the singer was donating her blue Tracy Reese dress as first prize.

“It’s a dream come true,” Samuel told Starpulse.com’s Music News. “I feel like a princess. I want Alicia to know how amazing this was for me.”

Keys has some advice for Samuel’s big night, “Have fun, keep your head to the sky, and be safe.”

Samuel will wear the gown to her prom June 2.

Keys works with Operation Fairy Dust, a non-profit organization that collects previously worn dresses and gives them to disadvantaged girls.

Cause Coffee

Would a City Councilman engage in a shameless act of commercialism to win $10,000 for a local charity? The answer is “yes.”

Councilman Eric Gioia took part in a charity event at Trump Tower in which he powered a bicycle-driven blender as it mixed the newest Starbucks coffee creation – the Banana Frappuccino.

Gioia competed against celebrities – including The Soprano’s Steve Schirripa, Sex in the City’s Mario Cantone and Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova – to make the quickest and tastiest concoction.

Despite his best efforts, Gioia could not best Cantone, who took home the prize. The Councilman did not demand a recount.
