Can you believe Rosedale hottie Joanna Raymond thinks “It’s hard getting people’s attention.” That was how she felt when the 20-year-old was hired to hand out flyers for a chiropractor in Manhattan.

Now, the up-and-coming model admits getting attention is getting easier.

Professional photographers contacted Joanna after she posted photos of herself on various modeling websites. The girl who admits she has “a lot of fun strutting,” said she looks forward to working the runways and putting together her portfolio.

The up-and-coming model said she’s optimistic about her career. “If someone noticed me, then other people will too,” said Joanna, now a senior majoring in psychology at Seton Hall.

She put her psychology insight to use in deciphering the latest fashion trends.

“When it comes to teenagers . . . even if they’re not immersed into a particular subculture, they’ll dress to fit into that crowd.”

“Sorority girls on campus, they all wear make up and wear high heel shoes to class to impress someone,” said Joanna. “I know for a fact some people dress really outlandishly to show off, [they] usually have really low self esteem and want people’s attention.”

“The people dressed normally are the most secure people,” she said.

And how does Joanna dress when she goes out?

“A tube dress, black, it’s kind of short, and pair it with a nice pair of stiletto boots, a nice shawl, and this coat, leather and really long.”

For the Rosedale beauty some fashion no-no’s are universal. “In Queens, Manhattan and N.J., sorority girls all dress alike: make-up and Uggs boots and really short skirts. I’ve seen that in all three areas.”

To get a more fashionable look – or simply your own look – Joanna opened up on where she thinks folks should shop.
“One of my favorite stores is Forever 21, in Green Acres Mall. If people want to shop on Jamaica Avenue, there are stores that look like holes-in-the-wall that have the best clothes.” Raymond kept the exact location of her favorite Jamaica Ave. shopping spot to herself.

Suddenly Susan Sarandon

Which Susan Sarandon is real?

Susan Sarandon finally has come face to face with her twin.
The Forest Hills native was back in New York City last week to visit Madame Tussauds Museum to view a new wax statue made in her image.

The life-sized statue confused the many fans that turned out for the unveiling as they reportedly could not tell the difference between the real Sarandon and her waxy likeness. The only way to tell the two apart was their clothing: The actress wore a grey silk dress, while her “twin” will be on display in a sparkling black gown.
Sarandon apparently could use a real-life clone as she is currently filming a new movie and has three more set for release in 2005, including the musical “Romance and Cigarettes,” directed by fellow New Yorker John Tuturro.

The Key of Alicia

QConf lensman Steve Azzara went to the Z 100 Jingle Ball Concert at Madison Square Garden and came back with these memories, (clockwise from top left):Alicia Keys, Natalie Lofton, Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, Destiny's Child.

The nominees for the 2005 Grammy included some great talent this year, but the person who got the second-most nominations was Queens native Alicia Keys, who studied piano at the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music in Flushing.

Keys’ album “The Diary of Alicia Keys” was nominated for Album of the Year as well as Best R&B Album. In addition, her song “If I Ain’t Got You” earned her nods for Song of the Year and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

But she didn’t stop there. Keys also was given nominations for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for the song “Diary,” which she recorded with Tony! Toni!
Tone! and for the tune “My Boo,” a duet with Usher. “My Boo” and “You Don’t Know My Name” were also each nominated for Best R&B Song.

It should also be noted that St. Albans native L.L. Cool J was also nominated for best Rap Album for his 2004 “The Definition” release.

The Grammy winners will be announced Sunday, Feb. 13, at a ceremony in Los Angeles.

Adrien Brody Meets Kong

Guess who Queens-born Oscar-winner Adrien Brody has for a co-star in his newest film?

Want a hint? He’s an extremely hairy film legend who weighs a ton and is given to fits of rage.

Heartthrob Brody has been cast in the newest remake of “King Kong,” which is being directed by another Oscar-winner—“Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson.

The film is about to finish its second month of production in New Zealand, Jackson’s home turf, with no word yet as to when or if Brody and company will take to the streets of New York City to film that iconic Empire State Building sequence.

Brody nabbed the part of playwright Jack Driscoll, a character from the famed original, in the $200 million production that includes a host of new characters not in the original and also features Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Andy Serkis.

According to reports, the film will be released next Christmas.
