Skyy's No Limit
|
|
This Korean sensation has been modeling consistently since 2005 with the help of online resources such as One Model Place and Model Mayhem.
“I’ve done about 80 different jobs with 30 different photographers,” Natasha said. “I’ve been in a jewelry ad and worked with Supermodels Unlimited. It’s been fun.”
A photographer friend had told Natasha to give modeling a try, so she did: “And I just never stopped.”
This is a part-time gig for the St. John’s graduate whose full-time career is in the finance sector, despite a Bachelor of Science degree in ecology with a philosophy minor. Natasha now has her eyes set on a solo music career.
“I’m working on a solo CD” with a producer friend, Natasha said. Just last week she tried out with another producer for a girl-band trio, but Natasha said she’d rather set out on her own.
With the little free time her hectic life affords, Natasha heads to the gym five days a week and spends most of her extra time at home with her Yorkie puppy, her cat – and trying to get some extra sleep.
On the rare occasion she goes out, there are some clubs along Queens Boulevard this gal enjoys, as well as Manhattan hotspot Players.
Oh, and the ink? Just a few months ago Natasha had the 23rd Psalm scripted onto her upper arm.
“It’s just to remind me to stay out of trouble,” she said with a laugh.

Queens Characters
|
| Fran Dresher from Flushing and Alexander's Costanza from Bayside
|
Flushing native Fran Drescher will once again play the ingénue – opposite Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander.
Indiaserver.com reports that the two have signed on to play in a 15-minute movie to be screened exclusively at the Australian society wedding of tycoon Geoffrey Edelstein and bride Brynne Gordon – who will also star in the short about the onset of their relationship.
Edelstein told the site, “It is a bit like the Pretty Woman movie and some scenes out of that really did happen.”
If the two reprise their popular roles, it’s a Queens fan’s dream – our lovely Nanny hanging out with one of the Costanzas kicked out of Bayside.

Hair Homage
|
| Ron Artest's tribute to a slain Queens homeboy
|
Ron Artest, seen as one of the bad boys of the NBA, showed he has a heart. In a show of compassion, the Queensbridge native cut his hair to honor a fallen friend
According to published accounts, Artest’s Queens friend, Mike Chatfield, was killed in a random act of street violence.
The newly lined haircut emblazoned on Artest’s skull has two characters of Chinese script on left part of his head, which signifies champion. On the right side Chatty is displayed.
Supposedly, Artest will dedicate this season to Chatty. We hope that Chatty and a new contract from the Lakers will inspire Artest to play to his full potential.

Ivey’s Choice
|
| Queens kid Royal Ivey now plays for the Philadelphia 76ers
|
The Yankees-Phillies World Series has raised the hackles of a particularly downtrodden breed in our borough – Mets fans. You can’t root for the Yankees because, well, they’re the Yankees; and you can’t root for the Phillies because of the intense division rivalry with our beloved Amazin’s.
It gets more complicated for Royal Ivey, a guard on the Philadelphia 76ers who grew up in Queens a Mets fan in a divided household. Being a sports figure in the City of Brotherly Love he has to side with the local boys; but it turns out that’s not too hard.
“I definitely don’t like the Yankees,” Ivey said in a Philly.com interview. “They never were my team growing up.”
He admitted he owns a Yankee hat, but only received it as a gift and swears “I will never put it on my head.”
Let’s go Mets – next year.

Queens Blvd

| Q Conf spotted this makeshift hearse on Queens Boulevard. We know it’s been dubbed “The Boulevard of Death,” but this might be taking it a bit far.
