Models Of Queens Magdalena Zbikowski

Magdalena Zbikowski
Home: Middle Village
Age: 24
Height: 5’ 9"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Stats: 34-24-34

As soon as Magdalena Zbikowski moved to Queens from Poland she started hearing that she should pursue a modeling career.

“I think I was always really interested since I was a girl,” she said. The extra encouragement convinced her to give it a shot. Soon she was posing for hair style magazines and walking down runways.

“Posing my first time in front of the camera – I didn’t know what to do,” she said. “They told me to relax, don’t think too much, be natural.”

She took a break from it all to pursue psychology at Hunter College. But now, with graduation quickly approaching, Zbikowski has turned to her dream of modeling full time.

The 24-year-old is making other moves to prepare for her future. She bought a Middle Village house with her husband last year. She enjoys having a lot of space, but her social life still revolves around Manhattan and Greenpoint Brooklyn, a neighborhood with a large Polish population.
“When I first came here I had cousins,” she said. “I came for vacation, but I liked it.” Magdalena made the permanent move four years ago. Her immediate

family remains in Poland, but she never visits.
She said she enjoys walking and running in Queens’ tree-lined neighborhoods as well as reading, watching TV and relaxing. Although she’d like to get her Masters degree, she’s far more tempted by a return to modeling.

“I was waking up every day and smiling without a reason just like that,” she recalled. “Cause I love it.”

Moving On Up

Richard Lefrak

What, you thought that the name Lefrak is only synonymous with boxy brick buildings? Think again.

According to The New York Times, the Lefrak organization may be ditching “We serve the mass, not the class,” the motto of long-time patriarch Sam Lefrak, in favor of a new slogan.

The fourth-generation company recently purchased some property on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, as well as in Beverley Hills, and is seeking sites in London.

Perhaps the son, heir, Richard, Lefrak is trying to take on one of Sam’s nicknames for a Queens-native developer by the name of Trump: “Mr. Glitz and Ritz.”

Blood Brothers?

Jamaica’s Tony Yayo

This newspaper recently reported that a group of Bloods gang members were arrested in a major drug sweep in Far Rockaway. One of the purported “lieutenants” that was pinched was Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher, a self-proclaimed member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit and an associate of southside Jamaica’s Tony Yayo, also a member of G-Unit.

Fletcher is already on the hook for menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and assault for allegedly pulling a gun on G-Unit rival Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond’s 16-year-old son earlier this year. Yayo was also charged in the incident.

Seems like Tony just can’t stay away from trouble.

Mob Rule

If it were up to mob boss John Gotti, who lived in Howard Beach and had a social club in Ozone Park for many years, Rudy Giuliani would never have had the chance to run for president.

In 1986, Gotti and the other heads of New York’s five Mafia families discussed offing the then mob-meddling federal prosecutor, According to testimony in the murder trial of a former FBI agent.

In testimony released last week, Gotti and the leader of the Colombo family were for the hit, but the heads of the Bonanno, Lucchese and Genovese families voted against the idea.

Guess majority wins in the mob.

What’s In A Name?

Cobsy and Comrie team up to fight the use of the 'N' word..

City Councilman Leroy Comrie cannot be thrilled about this.
Neither is Bill Cosby.

It was revealed recently that Queensbridge king Nas’ new album will feature a – let’s call it interesting – title. . .

“Nigger.”

Talk about provocative.

“Right now, we’re on a whole new movement,” Nas told MTV. “We’re taking power from that word.”

The album is due out Dec. 11. Reserve your controversy, er, copy, today.

Don’t Mess With Queens, Bass

South Jamaica native and rapper 50 Cent launched his book Tuesday — on the same day that former ‘NSYNC star Lance Bass put out his own memoir.

Each had some harsh words for each another.

“He doesn’t stand a chance,” 50 told the Daily News, against his book, “50 x 50.”

“With me, everything’s a competition, so I bet you the end of next week, I’ll be moving more copies than him,” he said. “This is the same competition – this is Kanye West and 50 Cent all over again.”

Bass retorted, “50’s going down, that’s all I have to say.”

Through candid, raw personal essays and rare family photos, 50's book tells the story of a man who rose from a life in Queens of hardcore hustling to one of unrivaled commercial success.

“When I look at these pictures and think about my days growing up on the south side of Queens, they’re such distant memories that sometimes it feels like a movie I watched...But all those things add up to me being who I am - being 50 Cent.”

In Bass’s memoir titled “Out of Sync,” he discusses among other things, life as a gay man, his struggle to keep his sexuality hidden from *NSYNC’s fans, and the true circumstances that led to his decision to publicly come out at the age of 27.
