Model Law Student

Jessica Bonilla Home: Richmond Hill Age: 19 Height: 5’3" Weight: 135 pounds Stats: 34-27-32 NYphotoByNick@aol.com
Having dreams of becoming the Queens’ District Attorney, Jessica has one thing on some other DA hopefuls dont, she’s a model with a knack for the law.
As a criminal justice student at St. John’s, Jessica lives in a Richmond Hill apartment with four of her classmates, one of whom got her started in modeling this past summer. Having gone to only a few paid photo shoots, Jessica said what she enjoys most about being in front of the lens is putting all other pressures aside.
“It relieves stress,” she said. “I don’t think about anything else that’s going on.”
Even though modeling might just be a hobby for now, education is at her forefront and after graduating SJU, she hopes to become an NYPD officer, where a law degree could be obtained for free. After that, Jessica wants to become a prosecuting attorney and then Dick Brown and Pete Vallone, Jr, look out!
Originally from Suffolk County, Jessica moved to Richmond Hill.
“I hated living on campus,” she said. “The food was horrible and I got homesick.”
As far as staying in shape, Jessica said she doesn’t pay too much attention to what she eats, as long as it isn’t the food at Montgoris Hall. Now living among her peers just a few miles off-campus, Jessica said she enjoys going out to the many Colombian restaurants and bars in Corona. One of her favorite night time hot spots is Millennium. “I like to get in touch with my Colombian side,” said Jessica.

| Jesse Eisenberg (left) and little sister, Pepsi spokesgirl Hallie Kate
|
Jesse Eisenberg, the 22-year-old actor who hails from Queens, may cause some waves in his current film, “The Squid And The Whale,” co-starring Jeff Daniels and Laura Linney, but this may be the opportunity for him to move out from the large shadow of his kid sister.
Audiences may remember the diminutive Hallie Kate Eisenberg as the spokesgirl for Pepsi who in the span of two years – 1998 and 1999 – was featured in no fewer than seven feature films and had numerous endorsement contracts.
Though she has grown up since that time, it will be interesting to see if older brother Jesse can achieve the same kind of stardom.
Let’s hope he comes up with a better idea for the title of his next film, currently plugged as “The F**k Up.”

Queens' Queen Of Funk
|
| Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
|
Looking at 49-year-old Sharon Jones – all 5 feet of her – it’s almost impossible to imagine a mix of rhythm, funk and blues bubbling inside, fighting to get out at any moment.
But it is all in there, and a whole lot of it, enough to fuel the Queens resident and her band the Dap-Kings on non-stop tours throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Stone, who got together with the Dap-Kings to bring the funk to bars around New York and lay down some soul at weddings about 10 years ago, is finding herself on the same page as big guys like former Queens resident James Brown.
The group’s performance on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” earlier this year brought the band national attention, but it’s Jones’ way of playing with overwhelming emotion that has gotten them on the road with a solid schedule of gigs.
Jones has said it was the mix of growing up in Queens and spending family summers in Augusta, GA, the hometown of the Godfather of Soul himself, soaking up the southern soul that has put her at the top of the game today.

Franke & Dogg
Working in the record industry definitely has its perks. As VP of Sales for Koch Entertainment, Fresh Meadows native and St. John’s U. graduate Ed Franke frequently brushes shoulders with the stars. Koch just signed rap star Snoop Doggy Dogg for two new albums. Franke is pictured with Snoop Dogg during a record release party in Irvine, Ca.

Forest Hills Cut-Up
|
| Forest Hills' Dina Meyer
|
Forest Hills-born Dina Meyer is a survivor. She is the only primary actor/actress that managed to survive in the movie “Saw” and make it to the horror flick’s sequel. In the movie’s second go-around, Meyer reprises her role as a criminologist attempting to track down the movie’s jack-in-the-box serial killer Jigsaw.
While the first film saw actors such as Danny Glover and Cary Elwes buy the farm at the hands of the masked madman, Meyer persevered and is now back in a movie that scored $30.5 million in the box office during its opening weekend.
Sci-fi fans might recognize the foxy actress, who is now 37, from her leading female roles in films such as “John Mnemonic,” “Dragonheart,” and “Starship Troopers.” Meyer has also made numerous appearances on hit television shows like “Beverly Hills: 90210” and more recently “Birds of Prey” on WB 11.
Let’s hope that she can survive another round of “Saw.”
