Tasha Page
Home: Laurelton
Age: 19
Height: 6’1"
Weight: 150
Stats: 32-26-31
A leggy combination of brawn and beauty, this Laurelton babe began modeling with the Black Cartel agency only a month ago. Though she is fairly new to the modeling game, she has absolutely no fear in front of a camera.
“I love having my pictures taken,” said Tasha. “I want to model for a career.” Tasha admitted that it’s a hard job, and she has a few things that she’d like to improve upon, such as catwalk maneuvering. However, with her natural green eyes and nicely toned skin, she has already been featured in magazines such as Vibe and Seventeen.
When Tasha’s mother asked her to pick one word to live by, Tasha came up with the word “Respect.” A tattoo needle ensured the feeling, inscribing it onto her left arm. Tasha also has a butterfly tattoo on her stomach and a nose ring.
At 6’1”, Tasha has a knack for shooting hoops. Receiving a scholarship to Dowling College, she stars for the basketball team. She is a strong rebounder and her jersey number is appropriately No.1. With sports on the brain, Tasha is a sports management major and is getting set for her junior year at Dowling.
Tasha is an alumnus of Francis Lewis High School. “I’m comfortable in Queens and I grew up here, but I might look into moving to Manhattan in the future,” she said.
When Tasha is not modeling or running the hard floors, she likes to go shopping. Her favorite spots around Queens for commerce include Jamaica Avenue and the Queens Center Mall.
The oldest of five children, Tasha looks after her three sisters and one brother. Her second oldest sister, who is 16, is also a model for the Black Cartel agency.

Walken For President
|
| Look who may throw his hate into the ring at: www.Walken2008.com
|
A rumor on a British Web site said Christopher Walken, the fast-talking and always sarcastic Queens born actor, had his sights on a Presidential campaign in 2008.
Walken quickly dismissed the notion and denied any involvement in the www.Walken2008.com website, which features a tribute to the actor and gives his views on political issues, such as stem cell research and campaign finance reform.
According to the site, the campaign does not have a political party affiliation, but would consider one if chosen. In addition, Walken’s platform has not yet been written, but “is nearing completion.” The site says that the campaign is based out of a number of small offices in New York, Alabama, Florida, California and Colorado.

Given the likely field so far, he’s worth a look.

| Srdjan Stojanovich wins the 5,000K
|
Serbian super-jogger Srdjan Stojanovich finished first in his latest marathon last week. So what, you may yawningly inquire? Perhaps we neglected to mention that the marathon, organized by Queens’ own adopted guru Sri Chinmoy, was 3,100 miles long.
The Self-Transcendence Marathon, known as an “ultra-marathon” in the running world, was held around the track at Thomas A. Edison Vocational Technical High School.
Stojanovich, 42, finished in 46 days, 10 hours, 51 minutes and 16 seconds. He even added a few extra laps to reach the ultimate ultra-running milestone, 5,000 kilometers.
Fourteen runners began the race June 13, and 13 finished, jogging from 6 a.m. until midnight. Along the way, they recited Bible verses and Chinmoy’s meditation chants, and ate avocados and whole sticks of butter to keep from losing weight.
The race was 5,649 laps, more than the distance from New York to Los Angeles.

Valiant’s Close Encounter
|
| Johnny Valiant and Andre the Giant
|
With 30 years of experience in the world of professional wrestling, Johnny Valiant of Woodside has seen a great many things and has a pocketful of zany stories. But there is one experience on the wrestling road that stands out in his mind over all others, mainly due to the enormity of the story’s subject.
While having to share a hotel room on one particular road trip with the 7-foot-5, 525 lb. Andre the Giant, Johnny was trying to fall asleep in his bed after a tough match. The two wrestlers were sharing a room on the 60th floor of a Marriot in Pennsylvania when things got a little strange. From his bed, Johnny looked over to find Andre strip down fully bare.
“He was standing in the room completely nude, and said the scariest thing that you could hear from a naked giant. He said, ‘I’m Lonely.’ I didn’t know what to do.”
Luckily for Johnny, events went no further, and Andre the Giant proceeded to have what Johnny called a “wrestling match with himself.”
The night, however, had a lasting impression on Johnny’s memory. “I’ll never look at a baseball bat the same ever again,” he said.

The Donald’s Newest Liaison
|
| You're Hired: Donald To Martha
|
It’s being described as a match made in heaven. The two tycoons, Donald Trump who hails from Jamaica Estates and jailbird Martha Stewart, who recently came out from under house arrest, are teaming up for a new Apprentice series.
The Donald will produce The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.
Stewart refuses to reveal her catchphrase, but said she would not be using “You’re fired” from the Donald.
Candidates will be judged on their ability to incorporate Martha Stewart Living themes into their business practices.
They compete in areas like entertaining and design; you know, being a good housewife, diva and all. Other areas include merchandising and technology to encourage business know-how.
The winner will land a dream job with Martha Stewart Living.
The series airs this fall on NBC.

You Got Served
Following a meeting with Jets execs over bringing a new stadium to Queens, Pete Vallone, Jr. probably just wanted to go home. It had been a rough week. The city had lost a court case that allowed a graffiti art exhibition he vigorously opposed to take place in Chelsea.
But on his way down the stairs at Borough Hall, a smallish woman approached him and handed him a mountainous stack of papers. It was a lawsuit filed by Councilman Allan Jennings against the NYC Council and all the members of the Council’s ethics committee, Vallone being one.
Jennings is seeking to remove sanctions that the council placed on him in response to several indiscretions, including harassing several female employees.
Vallone weighed the legal brief, both physically and mentally, as a look of astonishment and amusement crossed his face. “Allan Jennings is suing me,” he said out loud, to the interest of passersby.
With his background as a prosecutor, Vallone may be well equipped to deal with Jennings’ legal assault. Though, we probably won’t catch him tagging up on Jennings’ car — he’s pretty much against that sort of thing.
