Home: Fresh Meadows
Height: 5’2"
Weight: 130 lbs
Stats: 34-24-36

Meet Kubbi. Growing up in Elmhurst and now residing in Fresh Meadows, this vixen with a talent for the dramatic arts has big dreams and aspirations.

“My goal in life is to be a successful working actress. In the next 10 years I see myself working on successful films and television and a successful run on Broadway.”

Kubbi was recently in a play called “Sex is more than a three letter word and 69 ain’t just a number,” which played at Caroline’s on Broadway. She also finished shooting an independent film called “Mere Players,” where she portrayed an Affirmative Action activist/counselor.

When she is not prancing about the stage or stealing the scene in front of a camera, Kubbi likes to go to the movies. Rather than shop, Kubbi would rather sit in a comfortable place with a book. “My favorite part of Queens is Bayside. They have a huge Barnes and Nobles there and I love to spend time in that bookstore.” She also likes to watch cartoons and travel to visit friends.

Kubbi says that Fresh Meadows is a wonderful place to live. “I go jogging in the morning in my neighborhood. It is so peaceful and makes me feel like I’m in the country.”
The oldest of five children, Kubbi draws much inspiration from her mother, a self-published children’s author.

A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, she received her BA in History. Kubbi also works as a Litigation Paralegal.

Ladies Love Cool J’s Movies

Southeast Queens native LL Cool J will soon be starring in a movie that is still untitled. Lions Gate Films hired screenwriter Charlie Bohl, who recently produced “Martha Behind Bars,” to write a thriller starring the rapper.
According to Variety, the movie will be the first multi-film deal signed with the rapper-actor. The development and production deal between LL and Lions Gate involves nine projects, in all of which he has the option to act as well as produce.

Lions Gate is keeping the storyline of the untitled project hush hush except to say it will be an African-American version of a cross between “Fatal Attraction” and “Body Heat.”

LL Cool J’s movies include “Krush Groove,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “S.W.A.T.” and “Rollerball.”

He can be seen in two recent productions “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah and “Edison” with Morgan Freeman and Justin Timberlake.

You're Fired

The Donald

Jamaica Estates native Donald Trump recently passed on an opportunity to pass pork around the state as its chief executive, saying instead he might prefer a nice wine Spitzer.

State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno had personally attempted to recruit the Apprentice mogul as a surprise candidate who could draw attention by capitalizing on his star power (It’s a formula known as the Arnold Theory).
Trump not only rejected the invitation, but also shocked the GOP by saying that he thought Democratic hopeful Eliot Spitzer “had done a great job,” as Attorney General. Of course, the “great job” could have meant not indicting Trump himself in his crusade against the New York super-rich elite.

The State Democratic Party wasted no time jumping all over the gubernatorial snafu, sending out a press release that said, “Who will they come up with next, Paris Hilton?”
The Hiltons are good friend with the Trumps, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility. At least Paris has never been in charge of a corrupt technical college in Kentucky. Perhaps it could be a good setting for “Simple Life 4.”

Victory Sign: Alive and Well

Crossing generations, ideologies and political parties, Winston Churchill's (right) "V for Victory" has endured the years perhaps even better than the legend of the great English Prime Minister himself.

Adopted by every Tom, Dick (the tricky one at left) and Harry, victorious at the voting booth, as the symbol of political triumph, it endures right here in Queens today.

Beep Helen Marshall (center) flashes her "V for Victory" at her installation earlier this month which follows her
re-election as Queens Queen.

Two Sides Of The Coin

Curtis Jackson or 50 Cent

The eight-song movie soundtrack from 50 Cent’s film “Get Rich or Die Tryin” was written by the Jamaica native whose real name is Curtis Jackson between takes in his trailer.

“I did use the actual scenes to create the themes of the record,” the rapper said. “So there’s a scene where a younger version of my character is looking through a storefront window at sneakers, and that’s what created the concept for a single off the soundtrack, ‘Window Shopper.’”

Jackson is no longer a window shopper but said he fears losing it all: “My worst nightmare would be to be back where I started.”

Meanwhile, fans ought to know that 50’s bad boy image may be just for the public.

Co-star Terrence Howard said he looks at 50 Cent as a man with two distinct personas.

“I thought I was going to meet a bulletproof vest. I thought he was going to be this monster,” said Howard. “And then I met this guy. I met Curtis Jackson, a man who went on a 14-day fast while we were shooting because he wanted to clear his thinking. I met a man that didn’t curse, that didn’t drink and didn’t smoke.”
