Acutely Cute Beauty
|
|
Stephanie Rodriguez
Home: Rosedale
Age: 16
Height: 5’3’’
Weight: 100 lbs
Stats: 32-24-32
Steph thinks modeling is fun and not that hard. She also thinks that being in high school, working part time at a supermarket, doing school plays and dance performances, going out on three to four auditions a week, modeling in a photo shoot or two and a runway show here and there is basically a piece of cake.
“Truly, I don’t find it hard,” said the self-assured Rosedale beauty. “It’s all about putting everything into place, that’s about it.”
Steph’s surprising discipline will come in handy in college considering her chosen career direction.
“I want to be a lawyer – I like defending people,” said Steph, who is acute enough to realize that modeling has nothing to do with something as academic as law. Although, who knows: she does want to be an entertainment lawyer. And she’s confident that her two careers can coexist despite the hard work and long hours that both require – Steph plans to continue modeling through college and law school.
Steph started modeling three years ago by simply posting her book on a few modeling web sites. The offers started coming in and Steph took it in stride, having a good time “meeting new people, going to new places, doing new things.”
Steph prefers catwalks to photo studios, and has noticed that as a result she’s changed the way she walks, as well as her dress. Asked whether her style has become more funky or more conservative, Steph answers, without hesitation: “Both.”
For someone able to grasp a paradox that quickly, law school should be a breeze.

| The Smell Of Sex
|
| Queens Dr. Judy Kuriansky
|
Longtime Queens resident and renowned “Sex Doctor,” Dr. Judy Kuriansky claims that the human sense that generates the strongest physical attraction is smell, not sight, as many, especially men, would imagine. She does not stop there; with the help of Dr. Alan Hirsch of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, Kuriansky claims that a person’s smell and taste preferences can determine personality.
With happy cooperation from Stolichnaya Vodka, the doctors conducted a taste experiment using the Stoli’s six flavors.
What did they determine? That Stoli Razberi lovers (Donald Trump among them) work hard for their money and their relationships, while the Stoli Vanil drinkers, such as Bronx girl Jennifer Lopez, are thrill seekers, jumping into relationships headfirst, and falling hard, loving to be the center of attention.
Want to know which “flavor” you are? By the time you finish off a bottle of Stoli to determine your taste preference, not much of a personality may be left to make a clear determination.

Queens Cover Girl
|
| Claire, Queens cover girl named for Queens' First Lady
|
Move over Heidi Klum, Milla Jovovich and Laetitia Kasta —there’s a new cover model in town.
The Queens community has an international celebrity in its midst—one that resides at the Queens Zoo in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Claire, the Zoo’s beautiful American bald eagle, was featured on the cover of the Bronx Zoo-based Wildlife Conservation Society’s Annual Report—a publication that is distributed worldwide.
The 12-year-old eagle has been a Queens resident since 1993. She was given a safe haven at the Zoo, after an unfortunate run-in with a P3 airplane in Alaska permanently impaired her ability to fly.
She is named in honor of Claire Shulman who for 16 years as Queens Borough President, scored as many covers as any other Queens resident.

LL Cool J On Home Turf
LL Cool J, Queens’ most consistently successful hip-hop artist, comes back to his roots in Jamaica.
For his new video, “Hush”, LL came back to his old hood and reminisced about growing up on Jamaica Ave, his “stomping ground, for real,” buying clothes from the Coliseum, Shirt Kings and Graffiti, and all of his Kangols from Rebel Knocks. Just to add authenticity, LL’s son Najee plays the young version of his dad.
But Jamaica is not the only neighborhood LL would like to call his home. Madison avenue and SoHo may also soon become a stomping ground for Cool J, or at least for LL Cool J wannabes. The rapper is launching his own clothing line, called James Todd Smith, and is marketed as “upscale, sexy clothing.” LL wants the line to create jobs for the community – which is perhaps why he will be handpicking himself “exclusive stores” for his clothing. Then again, jobs in the community mean money for an LL-designed suit.

Split Personality
What does Dennis Quaid, the sexy actor who played a Queens firefighter in the movie “Frequency,” have in common with sexy Democratic Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards? They both have very similar movie star good looks. In fact, have you ever seen the two of them together?

Goose Hunt
Give credit where credit is due…or else.
That’s apparently what led to gunfire in Jamaica this week as an angry rapper let out his frustration for reportedly being left off the album credits of one of his colleagues.
Kenneth Williams, 25, allegedly fired a shot and broke two windows of a 2002 Dodge Caravan owned by 26-year-old rapper David Elliot, better known to his fans as “Goose” He later told a reporter “All this started because I didn’t put someone on a song.”
