Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza said this week that her temporary residency in Glen Head has ended, and she has moved back into the district.
Carrozza (D-Bayside) had been living with her husband in Bayside on 33rd Avenue since 2001, and had been planning to purchase a new home this year. They had already lined up a tenant for their existing home, and when the purchase of the new home fell through, she and her husband moved to a home they purchased last year in Glen Head as a temporary solution, she said.
That temporary plan has now become permanent for Carrozza’s husband, William Duke, who will remain at that location. She has since moved into a co-op on 205th Street which she had purchased in January but was unavailable until now. As of Tuesday, she said, she is now living in that home.
“I am back in Bayside,” Carrozza said. “My temporary absence has come to an end. I will be maintaining that as my primary residence.”
Carrozza, who never changed her voter registration to Glen Head, said she filed paperwork Tuesday with the Board of Elections to update her address. The new home lies not just within her district, but also within the appropriate subdivision for which she serves as District Leader.
