Bound For Broadway Blossoms In Bayside

Bound For Broadway 2010 is coming to Bayside, at The Professional Performing Arts Center at Queensborough Community College, presented by the Theatre Arts Center.

Students from last year’s Bound For Broadway program perform “Much Ado About Nothing” at Queensborough Community College.
The all singing and dancing revue is choreographed and staged by Guest Artists from Broadway, such as Robbie Roby and J. Austin Eyer from Broadway’s “Billy Elliot,” Shannon Lewis from “Curtains,” Penny Ayn Maas from “Cabaret,” Stephanie Klemons from “In the Heights” and more.

The two-act show is the product of TAC’s four-week Musical Theatre Workshop and features songs and dances from Broadway shows new and old such as “Billy Elliot,” “Damn Yankees” and “American Idiot.” It is performed by talented young singers and dancers from New York and beyond.

Artistic Directors Robert Laconi and Kristine Lewis have been producing the show in Queens since 2001. Performances will be on Saturday, July 31, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 1, at 3 p.m.

The Professional Performing Arts Center Theatre is located at 222-05 56th Ave. (between Springfield Blvd. & Cloverdale Blvd.; Exit 29 on the L.I.E.) on the Queensborough Community College campus in Bayside.
