Bryant HS Presents A Disney Favorite

The William Cullen Bryant High School theatre department will present an exclusive showing of Disney’s popular “High School Musical.” Bryant High school is the only high school within a 50 mile radius that has been granted the rights to perform this family favorite.

The performances will take place at the school, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults.

Based on the popular movie, “High School Musical” tells the story of Troy, the captain of the East High basketball team, and Gabriella, the key member of the school’s academic club. Despite their differences, the two shock the student body by teaming up to audition for the upcoming school musical. When word gets out that this popular pair has secretly chosen to reach for the stars and try their luck on the stage, the students of East High learn an important lesson in teamwork while gearing up for a musical performance that will have their audience singing and dancing in the aisles.

The show will be held at the Ethel Merman Theater at Bryant, which offers quality live theater at affordable prices. Visit the school’s Web site, at wcbryanths.org, tp glimpse the quality performances of previous shows at the school by clicking on performance clips.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Bryant High School Box Office at 48-10 31st Ave. in Long Island City or online at

Tickets will also be available at the door.
