Why Do You Love Me So?

Mothers are people too and sometimes they have failings.
Some are drunks, addicts and negligent, causing a lot of pain to the children they brought into the world.

But those are not the people we’re honoring this week.
There are still many, many mothers who give incredible amounts of happiness and love to their children.

They wake them up in the mornings with songs and they tuck them in at night with lullabies. They drop everything for a sports game or when they get a call from the school nurse.
They clean up bedrooms, remove grass stains and still stay up all night worrying they are doing something wrong.

Most of the kids and adults who wrote in to the Mother’s Day contest said their mothers should be Mother of the Year because of their mother’s love and devotion; because they do so much without being asked – as to say “I don’t understand why they love me and give so much but that’s what makes them so special.”

So let’s hear it for the mothers out there. We don’t know why you do it but we know we couldn’t do it without you.
