It’s not often that Queens is a battleground for the entire state. But this year, we could make a difference.

Queens Democrats are armed and eyeing two State Senate Seats currently held by Republicans. The first is Serf Maltese in the Western Queens 15th Senatorial District, and the second is Frank Padavan in the Eastern Queens 11th Senatorial District.

Running against the long-time senators are Democratic Councilmen Joe Addabbo and James Gennaro, respectively.

If the Democrats take the seats, they will hold a majority in the Senate for the first time since the 1960s, and control the Governor’s House, the Assembly and the Senate for the first time in a lifetime.

But this isn’t the sitting Democrats’ or Republicans’ decision – it’s yours – it’s up you to determine how the election will pan out.

This is the final week to register to vote in the upcoming election before the Oct. 10 cutoff.

So get out there and make sure your voice heard.
