Happy Thanksgiving
We’ve been through a lot in the past month. Many Queens residents were left without power in the weeks after Superstorm Sandy. The hardest hit of us were left without homes. Schools have been shut down; businesses have been shuttered and gas has been scarce in the wake of what has been called the worst storm to ever hit New York.
For most of us, we are thankful that things are finally starting to get back to normal after a chaotic month. However, too many of us are still feeling the effects of the storm and have yet to fully recover from the losses we have suffered.
Thanksgiving is a time to sit around the table with family and show appreciation for all that we have. In this time of need, we should also be grateful for all that we can provide. When you sit to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner this year, we ask that you keep in mind all those who have been affected by the events of the last month.
