While the children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren of previous immigrants continue to succeed and live out the American dream in Queens, a new group of immigrants is taking its turn at settling into our diverse borough, looking for the same opportunities as their predecessors.

Immigrants from Africa, the Caribbean, various Latino nations, Eastern Europe and various South Asians nations have been immigrating here to Queens in large numbers since the 1980s in search of better lives, and continue to introduce new cultures and traditions into the history of our borough.
