Street Drugs

Viles often litter areas of queen7 where crack is sold, sources said.

Once upon a time, Bazooka was bubblegum
Now it’s a bottom-line brand of crack that sells for $3 to $10 a hit, in places like Baxter Avenue in Elmhurst and on the streets of South Jamaica Street dealers peddle cocaine on Baxter Avenue for $30 a tone, but if cash flow is a problem, buyers can score an “eight-ball” for $8, of course.

Sources said the street price of cocaine varies on “how much is in the country,” who is selling the drug, and “how much it’s cut down” by distributors who want to make more for less.

Cocaine is on the streets near 82nd Street and Baxter, near the “40s” Houses in South Jamaica, and along the streets of Southeast Queens.

Pure cocaine and the newer most explosive “crank” is available along Prince Street in Flushing and in some playgrounds in the Flushing area dealt mostly by Asian gangs, sources said.
Dealers peddle marijuana along Roosevelt Avenue near 99th Street in Corona and along nearby 41st Avenue. Most of it goes for about $5, but you can get more than a “nickel bag” if you ask for it.

Dealers sell a “sprinkling” of cocaine near the Lefrak Houses in Rego Park. Depending on quantity and quality, it goes for about $5 to $10 a hit, the sources said.

Sources also said the “horse” is on the way back to the streets of Queens. Heroin is making a comeback, they said. Buyers go to the Queens-Brooklyn borderline in Ridgewood to score $10 bags.
New millenium heroin is snorted, not injected as it was in the 1980s, the sources said. Price is determined by quality, they said. Most hits go for $10, but a lesser “grade” is available for less money.

According to sources, heroin is also available in the Astoria Houses, but not in Queensbridge. Queensbridge is where you can find crack and marijuana, sources said.

Although Bayside and Douglaston are not spots for outside drug sales, you can score cocaine, crack and marijuana if “you know the right people.”

Ecstasy – a party drug – is $20 to $25 a pill, and isn’t in Queens “that much,” sources said. It’s brought to Queens and Queens nightclubs by people who buy it in Manhattan, sources said.
Remember – the sale and use of illegal drugs is a crime that can lead to arrest and long-term incarceration.
