The New York City subway system has been called the most convenient and inclusive subway system in the world. And it’s no wonder with over 21 separate subway lines and routes and 24-hour service throughout the Big Apple. Even Queens residents can get most anywhere they want to go at any time of the day.

For $2, Queens subway riders can hit the rails and see the City, from the skyscrapers of Manhattan to the brownstones of Brooklyn. But the price changed last year for those who use the City service on a frequent basis. A $6 increase for the unlimited MetroCard from $70 to $76, an increase from $21 to $24 for the seven-day card took effect this year. The MTA’s 2005 budget plans to close 164 subway station booths and to cut off-peak bus service have also abeen implemented. The $2 subway base fare, however, remain the same.

Here’s a look at all of the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s Queens subway lines and stations. For more information on routes and scheduling, check out www.mta.info/nyct/subway/index.html.
