Hanukkah just wouldn’t be Hanukkah without one of your little cousins running around the house hooting and laughing as he tugs on his dreidel adorned sweater, just as Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without one of your aunts asking you those personal goal-oriented questions, which you try so hard to avoid each year, as you zone her out by focusing in on her Rudolph vest and matching red-sequin earrings.
The scary thing is you might wind up zoning out to a point that you realize she’s wearing more red-nosed Rudolph than you’d like to know. Just think about it, how many times have you walked through Target and seen those Grinch boxers or passed by Victoria’s Secret or Fredrick’s of Hollywood and caught an embarrassing glance of a red and white lingerie-clad mannequin. The scary truth is that that aunt of yours could very well be wearing a snug pair of Rudolph bikini briefs.
But not all holiday clothes should be acknowledged with a shiver or an upturn of the nose, there are some pretty cool socks, ties and yes, sweaters out there…even for adults.
For instance, there’s the blue Dreidel Sweatshirt with a brightly colored spinning dreidel silk-screened to its front. Then you’ve got the “I Light Up” Sweatshirt, a white sweatshirt that reads “I Light Up for Hanukkah” referring to the menorah sitting just below the saying. Unfortunately, the menorah doesn’t actually light up, but it’s still as cute as a…. shiny menorah?
The Hebrew Letters Tie and Hanukkah scrunchie are two other products from nvo.com/1800dreidel that are worth a chance in your wardrobe this holiday season. Hebrew letters are spilling all over the tie, which is good for every day or for Hanukkah. The scrunchie has eye catching golden menorahs with colorful candles on a dark blue background.
Over at cafepress.com you can find the wardrobe that will let your hostess this Christmas dinner know exactly what you will be having seconds of and exactly what you wont even be putting on your plate. There’s the humorous cotton t-shirt that reads, “Fruitcake makes me nauseated” and a brown t-shirt with yellow retro inspired lettering that reads, “I Love Egg Nog.”
Even if you wouldn’t throw these two on for the family dinner, they’re still good for the office Christmas party, holiday shopping, or sipping eggnog while decorating. Now it’s up to you to find the sequin-embroidered snowman sweatshirt. |
