Great Green Space
The Green At The Shops At Atlas Park
80-00 Cooper Ave., Glendale
New and gorgeous. Exquisitely designed and relaxing place to shop, dine and movie-go. Parking on sight, a further plus.
-Frances Rose Rappy, Middle Village

It is the best because it will broaden the surrounding areas of the park and also make it so much easier for shoppers to shop instead of going all the way out to Roosevelt Field to shop.

Also, by having the Green open almost a year before the mall officially opened, it welcomed the community in and let them feel involved in the process of the making of Atlas Park.

pic

The Shops At Atlas Park are now open. Tribune Photo by Ira Cohen

When I went the first week it opened, I saw so many familiar faces with bright smiles on their faces. I especially thought the children enjoyed the experience a lot. Children were laughing and playing in the fountain. The workers were giving out balloons to all the little ones. Also, the children signed up for the Atlas Explorers, in which the child receives a stamp every week they come back and after a number of stamps, they will receive a gift. The adults could walk around, lie on the green and benches, shop at the local vendors and get fresh fruits and vegetables.

All in all, “The Green at the Shops at Atlas Park” was the Best of Queens; it brought the community together in a positive way, it will strengthen this great community and everyone who has seen it so far is anxiously awaiting the coming of these shops.
