Spending time with my wife, Melania, and my family.

I deal with whatever I have to deal with every day. It’s a form of discipline, and it reduces stress.

What one lesson do you hope to pass on to your children?

To enjoy what they are doing, to have passion for their work. That way, everything falls into place more readily.

How do you bounce back from adversity?

You have to love what you are doing.

What’s your favorite thing about Queens?

I spent a happy childhood there with my parents and my siblings.

Trump was born and raised in Jamaica Estates. His father, Fred Trump, was a multi-millionaire developer himself, and Donald moved into the family’s real estate business when he was 13. He rose to fame in the early 1980s after taking over the floundering Wollman Rink project in Central Park and completed in four months what the city had been unable to do in six years. (He now owns the rink.) The construction of Trump Tower and his purchase of scads of high-priced real estate along the southern edge of the park added to his fortune.
