The event is free but tickets are required. Space is limited. Tickets are available at Oak Ridge Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.nyc.gov/parks or call 311.
Electronic Shopping
The Internet has fundamentally changed the way we shop, eliminating the need to jump into our jeans and head out the door to the local mall.
You can do all of your holiday shopping and more at any hour of the day – and there are no long lines of crazed consumers to contend with while shopping online.
To shop at many of your local merchants with just the flick of a wrist and the click of a mouse, go to queensemall.com, or enter the name of the retailer – and shop to your heart’s delight!
The gifts can be delivered to your home address, your business, or directly to the recipient of the gift. Ask online for gift-wrapping – usually available at an additional charge.
Happy e-shopping!

Eid ul-Fitr
Often abbreviated as simply Eid, this is an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Fitr means “to break” and therefore symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period and of all evil habits. On the day of the celebration, a typical Muslim family gets up very early and attends special prayers held only for the occasion in big mosques, in large open areas, stadiums or arenas.
The festivities and merriment start after the prayers with visits to the homes of friends and relatives and thanking the Creator for all blessings. Eid is a time to come together as a community and to renew friendship and family ties. This is a time for peace for all Muslims in the world to devote to prayers and mutual well-being.
