So you’ve walked by the hulking brick building on Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens thousands of times, but are still not sure what happens on the inside?

Borough Hall is home to the Queens branches of City agencies, as well as the office of Borough President Helen Marshall and Community Board 9.

Marshall, the borough’s first African American president, convenes with her staff monthly for Borough board and cabinet meetings, and interested parties should contact her at 286-2800 to participate.
Marshall is currently working to bring additional municipal offices to Queens Borough Hall, to expand services and add convenience for Queens residents.

Borough President spokesperson Dan Andrews said, “We want to make it easier for people in Queens to receive services like getting a building permit, without having to go into Manhattan.”

Board 9, which represents Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven, and various other communities in central Queens, files constituents’ complaints and helps deliver City services.

Among the City departments found in Borough Hall are Housing, Preservation and Development, City Planning, and the Department of Transportation. Installed earlier this year were offices for the City Departments of Buildings and Consumer Affairs.

Also contained within Borough Hall are the Queens Women's Center – a non-profit, outreach organization designed to help women succeed in the borough and beyond – and the Senior Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), which is available for business advice and counseling in the areas of marketing, advertising, merchandising, or a list of other.
The agencies and organizations located at Borough Hall are tenants. The building is operated by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services.

If you’re curious about what goes on in Borough Hall, check out Borough President Helen Marshall’s website, www.queensbp.org, or call 286-3000. Borough Hall is located at 120-55 Queens Blvd. in Kew Gardens.
