ourism in New York City is at an all-time high, and some of those outsiders are making their way into the Queens restaurants and museums that pay for space in city guides, that promote themselves online and that aim to get their share of the tourism dollar.

But then there is the rest of us – the people who grew up here, who have lived here for years, or who have assimilated to the pace and surroundings of our neighborhoods – the insiders.
