It was the year we turned 35. To faithful Queens Tribune readers, the paper’s anniversary meant more than three decades of grass-roots coverage of borough and neighborhood news. To Trib publishers and newshounds, those 35 years are a reflection of thousands of pages of newsprint, piles of reporters notes, endless hours of editing – and at least 15,860 deadlines we’ve managed to meet since Gary Ackerman dug his heels in to provide the community with a voice back in 1970…
