Ramada Pimp and Pros Imprisoned Girls: DA

By Michael Cusenza
An alleged pimp and two prostitutes were busted this week for peddling two women at the Ramada Plaza Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport and imprisoning them in a Far Rockaway residence, Queens DA Richard Brown said.
Thomas “Nitty” Spann, 30, Tamisha “Mimi” Allen, 25, and Percressa “Sugar” Gaines, 19, all of Beach 68th St. in Far Rockaway were arraigned Monday on charges of second-degree promoting prostitution and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

Spann and Gaines were also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. In addition, Spann was hit with promoting prostitution, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and sexual misconduct. If convicted, the three defendants each face up to 15 years in prison.
Bail was set at $250,000 for Spann, $10,000 for Allen and Gaines was released on her own recognizance. Their next court date is April 2.

According to a Daily News report, the two victims were dancers from Kalua Cabaret in Jamaica, the same strip club where Sean Bell celebrated his bachelor party minutes before he was gunned down by cops.

The two victims, ages 20 and 25, accompanied Spann to the Far Rockaway apartment the night of March 12. According to the charges, Spann had sex with the 25-year-old woman despite her protests, and both victims were constantly watched by Allen and Gaines. When the 25-year-old asked if she and her friend could leave, Spann allegedly threatened to shoot them.

The charges also allege that the three defendants posted photos of the two victims on Craigslist, an Internet bulletin board, to solicit customers who then came to the apartment and had sex with the women in exchange for money.
Spann drove the victims to the Ramada on March 14 where the 25-year-old allegedly engaged in a threesome with Gaines and a male customer. The 25-year-old fled the hotel room on March 15, alerted staff who called Port Authority Police.
“Prostitution is not a victimless crime but a terrifying and despicable offense against society practiced by callous jackals who enslave young women without hope and victimize them one day at a time,” Brown said.

A search warrant was later executed at the apartment. Cops allegedly found a loaded 9 mm pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition in the magazine, a box containing 45 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, a box containing 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition and another box containing 40 round of 9mm ammunition.

“Working in close cooperation with District Attorney Brown, his staff, and the NYPD, we were able to bring down this prostitution operation and the individuals who displayed such wanton disregard for the law, and we’ll continue to aggressively pursue anyone else who tries to do the same,” said PAPD Superintendent Samuel Plumeri, Jr.
