Jamaica Shootout:

Two policemen from the gang unit were involved in a shootout in Jamaica on Saturday.

The policemen stopped three men in a black Toyota along 169th Street at 9:20 p.m. One of the men fled on foot, no responding to the officer’s warnings of “police don’t move.” The 21-year-old man fired a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun at the pursuing police, who then returned fire, striking the suspect.

The man was transported to nearby Mary Immaculate Hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
