CONVICTED:

Queens DA Richard Brown announced last week that Ricardo Garcia-Villegas, 53, has been convicted of fatally stabbing Armando Perez, 45, twice in the chest on Jan. 9, 2006, following a dispute inside of Perez’s Astoria basement apartment. Garcia-Villegas, of the Bronx, was convicted after a one-week jury trial of second-degree murder, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence. Sentencing was set for March 24, at which time Garcia-Villegas faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
