We sent George Pataki back to
Albany for four more years, weathered tropical changes, thanks to El Niño, and celebrated
the best and the worst of times in Queens . . . a new library opened our collective minds
to new challenges and old classics . . . we vowed to fight the closing of one
of our firehouses and we joined a line of blue in a sad farewell to a Queens hero . . . Police
Officer Anthony Mosomillo was cut-down by a parolees anger in a Flatbush apartment
on May 26 . . .
