The New Year is often viewed as a time of celebration, when new possibilities swirl through the heart and mind like a mass of confetti. The New Year also provides an opportunity for self assessment and reflection. Yet many personal New Years resolutions, such as eating fewer donuts or going to the gym everyday, never actually happen. Possibly, a more useful way to consider New Year’s resolutions is to think beyond the immediate horizon and consider meaningful goals which would extend to the entire year.
