If population projections are accurate, the 7th grade class at I.S. 145 may soon become
as jam-packed as the No. 7 train at 7:45.
While total enrollment in city public schools is on the decline, the
Board of Education anticipates that over the next decade Queens will need to provide for
an additional 60,000 students, a 20 percent increase over the present total.
