If you are looking for good food at affordable prices then The Water
View Diner and Restaurant is the place for you.
Overlooking the Shellbank Basin in Howard Beach, this cozy diner offers
a vast menu featuring everything from hamburgers to grilled salmon, with few entrees
exceeding $11.
During the week between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. breakfast specials are
offered and a new sandwich wrap lunch special has recently been added to the menu.
As an appetizer, I started off with the zucchini sticks ($4.65). This
first course, which I originally thought served one, came complete with 14 healthy-sized
sticks served piping hot.
Nearly half full from my appetizer, I moved on to a tuna fish salad
wrap ($6.50). All selections from the newly added wrap menu include pickles, cole slaw and
a beverage with a side order choice of soup, potato salad or french fries.
The service was impeccable. No longer than five minutes after my order
I received the main course. Filled with tuna fish, tomatoes and romaine lettuce, I could
hardly finish half of my wrap.
Overall the food was delicious, but more importantly, in the end my
wallet remained as full as my stomach.
Among the restaurants that sprawl along Cross Bay Boulevard, The Water
View stands out as an establishment offering great food and service at a reasonable price.
