This comfortable, 30-year-old pub and restaurant has bloomed under the
tender loving care of petite owner Regina. There is a long and popular bar on one side and
a cozy restaurant in the other half of the rustic looking building.
After you are seated, your waitress will take your drink order and
present you with a whole, warm fresh loaf of bread on a cutting board with a cup of
butter.
The night we visited, there were a number of evening dinner specials.
It was hard to choose only two. For one we chose the Braised Colorado Lamb Shank ($15.95
with soup or salad, potato and a vegetable). The salad was plentiful and an attractive
presentation of mixed greens, shredded carrots, red cabbage and onion with blue cheese
dressing on the side. Soup of the day was a warming barley soup. The entrée was two large
lamb shanks in gravy accompanied by mashed potatoes and a medley of fresh veggies. Do
bring your appetite. The portions are truly hearty!
Our other choice was an intriguing offering (also $15.95) of Carribean
Island Pork Chops. This was a mouthwatering and colorful offering of two well-cooked pork
chops covered with mixed peppers, onion, mushrooms and, surprisingly, sliced peaches all
slightly spiced. Again, the portion was huge!
On the regular menu there are an assortment of interesting items.
Appetizers include Sambuca Shrimp ($8.95), New Zealand Mussels with red or white sauce
($8.95) or classic Maryland Crab Cakes with tomato basil salsa ($7.95).
Entrees from the Butcher Block section of the regular menu include
items such as Twin Lobster Tails ($29.95) and 18 ounce Black Angus T-Bone Steak with
mushrooms and merlot sauce ($21.95). The fish section offers salmon, shrimp and filet of
sole stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat ($16.95).
The poultry section of the menu offers a classic Chicken Marsalla
($14.95) as well as a roast (white meat) Turkey Platter ($13.95). And dont forget
the Irish corner where you will find Fish & Chips ($12.95) and Shepherds Pie ($12.95).
The pasta section features include Alfredo ($12.95) and Penne A La Vodka.
Burgers and sandwiches are popular; especially for lunch. There is a
half pound lean beef burger with lettuce, tomato and French Fries. NOTE: The French Fries
here are excellent!
Our busy server, Sara, advised that there had been a run on the
Baileys Cream Cake so we ended our meal with a shared Black Forest Cake.
Bring your appetite and visit Regents Row for a full-filling meal.
