Porterhouse is not just a place to go for
dinner. It is a place to go to dine and experience food to its fullest in a comfortable
and entertaining setting.
Upon entering, I knew that this is the kind
of place where someone can come and throw back a beer watching the big game on one of
numerous television sets while indulging in a variety of filling entrees that are sure to
please anyone.
Among the appetizers, the restaurant serves
all the classics from quesadillas tomozzarella sticks. However, I went with the
waiters suggestion of the buffalo wings ($6.95). They proved to be a good choice as their
intense flavor only whet my appetite for more.
The entrees are where Porterhouse truly
shines, as the restaurant serves up a variety of tempting platters for even the most
critical palate. While the rib combinations all looked wonderful, I went with the more
traditional 12 ounce sirloin steak ($16.95). Grilled to perfection, the sirloin truly
serves as the benchmark for this quality steak house.
Although the ample portions were more than
enough to satisfy my hunger, I strongly suggest leaving enough room to sample their
dessert menu. The various cakes or ice cream choices are a simple way to finish off your
dining experience. However, if youre a little more adventurous, you may want to try
the delicious Porterhouse Chocolate Thunder ($4.95).
Generous amounts of ice cream are lavished
over a warm brownie centerpiece, with nuts, chocolate sauce and whip cream poured to
excess over the dessert to create an inexpensive but savory ending to your meal.
And after the kitchen closes, the night
comes to life at Porterhouse, especially on the weekends when numerous sports fans come to
check out the local game or those with the urge to boogie down enjoy themselves on the
dance floor towards the rear of the restaurant. Whatever your pleasure, Porterhouse is
sure to please.
