Secretly tucked away on Francis Lewis Blvd. lies an Italian dining oasis called Peter’s and as soon as you step into the dining room—a modern take on the old country— you and your taste buds will feel right at home.

If you want to do it right, a meal should start off with a selection from their extensive wine list along with an antipasti appetizer.

We selected the Mozzarella Di Casa ($6.95) which was the perfect blend of homemade mozzarella with roasted peppers, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil with just the right amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

As an entrée you may want to select the Baked Ravioli ($10.95) – delicious cheese ravioli topped with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce.

For the seafood lover in me, I sampled the Cavatelli with shrimp and scallops in a red sauce ($12.95) – a house special that was especially tasty.

Our server Cathy, who explained at great length the delicate process of how Italian desserts are prepared, recommended the amaretto cherry gelato – the perfect way to top off a perfect meal.

So if fine italian fare in a warm friendly setting is what you are craving, give Peter’s a try - you won’t be disappointed.
