Kissena Park has for some time boasted one of
the best public golf courses in the city. With its challenging holes, and serene scenery,
it is the perhaps the perfect way to spend a leisurely
afternoon. But what many people may not be aware of is the fact that the golf course also
houses On In One, a wonderful sports bar and grill.
Having just celebrated its one year
anniversary, the grill is the ideal spot for picking up a tasty snack in between holes.
With a wide selection of hot and cold entrees, and with a full service bar, On in One is
the perfect respite from a day on the course. The outdoor cafe provides a beautiful view
of the course, the perfect vantage point from which to admire those with varying
handicaps.
The early morning golfers, will be pleased
with reasonably priced breakfast selections like the egg on a role ($1.25), bagels, and
coffee.
For lunch, head straight for the sandwich
board. With many cold cuts to choose from such as Turkey or Ham on Cheese ($4.50), you
will not be disappointed. Other specialties include Chicken Tenders ($4.25), Fried Shrimp,
Mozzarella Sticks ($4.95), Grilled Cheese ($3.25), Clams, and of course, Hot Dogs and
Hamburgers ($4.00). On in Ones spicy French fries ($3.25) are simply not to be
missed.
In the evening hours, On in One doubles as a
sports bar, with enough television monitors to cover the most important sporting events of
the hour. Happy Hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and all bar drinks are only $2. On Sundays
there is a special Football event, with many terrific deals from the bar.
The bar also presents comedy shows, pub style
food, and other nighttime entertainment such as karaoke. So whether you just need a quick
bite to eat after the ninth hole, or you are looking for a happening place to watch Monday
night football, get On in One, and remember to bring your putter.
