It could take a delicious lifetime to try everything on the menu at North Shore, which fits, since it has taken the owner, Bill, 22-years of loving care, additions and alterations to build his listing of fresh offerings.

And now his customers won’t let him change a thing.

North Shore is one of those comfort places, where you know you can always go to find just what you want, just the way you wanted it. And as a comfort place, it of course serves chicken soup (what else), which needs to be mentioned in particular because as far as this life-long Queens resident can tell, when I order the chicken soup with rice I am served the best chicken soup I have ever eaten anywhere in the borough (sorry Mom) . . . but that’s me.

Now on to the main course.

To be off beat, I tried their Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana (Made Our Own Special Way) for $13.95, and discovered that the dinner entrée comes with salad (I substituted the soup), spaghetti (or linguini) a complimentary glass of wine if you like and the most wonderful, slightly sweet tomato sauce. The chicken cutlet was a thin, tender and tremendous serving.

I also tasted the Broiled Chicken Greek Style ($12.75) with salad, my choice of potato (delicious baked sweet potato available) and vegetable (note the interesting options of zucchini and escarole are available, I enjoyed broccoli). Cooked to a beautiful tenderness, the chicken just fell of the bone into the light and tasty lemon sauce.

The portions were so generous that there was just no room for dessert, though the display case showcased some very tempting pies and cakes.

As for the rest of their menu . . . get to work and to tasting. From personal experience, I can also recommend their Chicken Souvlaki Deluxe with Tzatziki sauce, Greek salad and French fries ($8.95) and their breakfast selection (high quality, very low price). Check for daily special items and lunch specials . . . it’s all fresh and very carefully prepared.
