The newest addition to Bayside restaurants features Japanese cuisine.
With its attractive dining room in blond woods the sparse simplicity is a good setting for
eating.
The Sushi Bar offers all the popular appetizers including Sushi ($4 to
$5.50 pc) and Sashimi (7 pcs $7.50). The favorite California Roll is $3.50. Hot appetizers
range from Gyoza (fried dumplings) $3.75 to Fish Kara Age ($6.50). Assorted hot soups are
listed on the menu too.
A variety of entrees include assorted Teriyaki (fish, vegetables or
meat) marinated and grilled. Choices of noodle dishes (Udon or Soba) are featured. We had
Yaki Saba Rice noodles served in broth with finely cut vegetables ($6.50). Another
entrée, Tonkatsu, was strips of marinated pork, batter dipped then fried and served with
a mound of rice and a ginger-soy dip- attractively presented and good tasting,
The complete dinner section of the menu ( soup, salad, entrée and
dessert) is the place to look if you want to try something new. Here there are Chirashi
Sushi ($17.50), Sushi & Sashimi Combination ($21.50) and the Seafood Combination
Teriyaki ($27.50)as well as a variety of other entrées featuring chicken, pork and beef.
The menu also features cold platters from cold tofu to shrimp salad as well as Taiwanese
Specials which feature sautéed liver, kidneys, tripe as well as shrimp and Fried Soft
Shell Crabs ($11.50).
The lunch special from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. is served with salad and
soup and ranges from $5.25 to $8.95. and may be any from a long list including the Bento
Box of assorted fish, chicken or beef or Sushi, Sashimi or Yaki Soba, Tempura and
Teriyaki.
Enjoy hot tea or imported Sappora beer with your meal and the Japanese
cuisine.
