Looking for a relaxing, large, cool and airy spot to enjoy lunch or dinner? Then stop at Little Tokyo. This restaurant features Japanese cuisine, is inviting and has an attractive outdoor setting done in the ancient Ryorija style complete with a waterfall. The inside is divided so you can enjoy a private conversation. We usually sit somewhere near the room-length Sushi Bar so we can enjoy watching the Sushi Master preparing his specialties —especially the construction of the Sushi and Sashimi Combination Boat which is popular for a group of people. It is comprised of 5 Sushi, 21 pieces of Sashimi and California Rolls ($30.50). Smaller versions are also available.

The menu includes a large selection of appetizers including the favorite, Syumai — steamed dumplings with shrimp and Japanese crabmeat ($4.25). Another of our choices was Dynamite Yaki ($7)- a combination of crabmeat and Japanese mayonnaise served hot in a foil wrap.

A popular summertime dish, Cha Soba ($5.50), is cold, green noodles attractively served in a compartmented lacquer box with a dab of needle-thin Nori, shreds of ginger and white radish.

There are a number of Korean dishes including BBQ Bulkoki (sliced prime rib @ $13) and Kimchi as a side ($2). Vegetarians will find many choices including Hiyashi Tofu and Edamame (fresh, young soy beans).

Weekdays Monday through Friday from 12 noon until 2:30p.m. and Saturday from 12:30p.m. until 3p.m., there is a special lunch offered ranging from Tempura Don ($6.95) — shrimp and vegetables batter coated and deep fried to Bento Boxes with assorted contents.

The full-service bar features all the current favorites including sake and plum wine as well as assorted imported beers.

The menu is lengthy and descriptive. You are sure to find something to savor.
