Models Of Queens
And A Stroll Through The Park

Colin Procope
Home: Rochdale Village
Age: 25
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 180 lbs.
Shirt: 34/35
Waist: 34
Neck: 16
UModels.com

Born on Dec. 25, Colin Procope was the best Christmas present his mom ever had and now at age 25 the tall, handsome “hunk” is ready to model anything from bathing suits to dress suits.

This physically fit Rochdale Village resident never thought much about modeling until one day, five-years-ago, while walking through Macy’s 34th Street , a representative from Calvin Klein approached the 6’, 2”, 180-pound body builder and asked if he was interested in promotional work.

“Why not?” he said. “I’ve never done this before, but I’d be willing to try it.”

Procope then worked for Calvin Klein and Donna Karan, presenting their perfume collections at Macy’s and hooked up with Umodels.com, the agency which now represents him.

Following his modeling stint, Procope started body building at Bally’s Fitness Club five times a week. While he already looks great, Procope is working on his abs.

“I’m open for modeling opportunities,” he said.

But modeling and body building aren’t the only professions that Procope has pursued.  He is presently working as a credit analyst, and is enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Finance program at Baruch College in Manhattan.

This life-long Jamaica resident graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in biology.

Procope enjoys playing basketball and tennis, going to the movies and dinner and likes to take walks through Roy Wilkins Park with his girlfriend.

Queens Web Song

If you feel like there’s a shortage of Queens on the web, check out www.levity.com/brooklyn/Queensboro.html.

One of the many Queens scenes from Levi Asher's web-album "Queensboro Ballads."

There you’ll find Levi Asher’s website titled Queensboro Ballads – a web-based album/biography that describes how Queens-born Asher came to find himself moving back to his favorite City borough at the bequest of his in-laws.

Included on the site are photos and quirky but cool descriptions of Queens’ neighborhoods — ones that give tips on where to get the best Taco Bell and Italian Ices and shed light on details about some of Queens’ most notable residents.

The site also provides some other interesting and creative highlights – a photo essay depicting riders on a rush hour number 7 train surrounded by lyrics of John Lennon’s song “Working Class Hero.”

So if you are in a Queens state-of-mind, or want to put yourself in one, check out the site.

Sex, Lies and Videotape

And you thought Clinton was a naughty politician.

Flushing video stores can barely keep up with the demand for a pirated videotape of Taiwan legislator Chu Mei-feng having sex with internet CEO Tseng Chung-ming, a raunchy little film released in March overseas. The tape, which is actually sold in Video Cassette Disk (VCD) form, was filmed illegally by two creative filmmakers, who snuck a small camera into Mei-feng’s bedroom.

According to published reports, Mei-feng is suing the tabloid that originally released the tape in Singapore for libel, and police in Taiwan were ordered to confiscate most of the tapes. Despite their best efforts, enough copies were pirated to get all the way to Flushing video shops, where the tapes sell for between $10 and $15, according to a Prince Street store owner. According to an employee at the Flushing Sheraton’s VCD shop, the tapes have been selling “extremely fast,” and the demand, “is tough to keep up with.” When asked if he watched the tape, he smirked and said, “Who hasn’t?”

Another videocassette shop on Union Street can’t keep the tape in stock, and the owner called it, “A very popular tape.” He added, “You can find it in Flushing all over. There’s a demand.”

According to published reports, Mei-feng is a former Taiwanese television reporter and a professional singer. She has also published a book, Confessions of Chu Mei-feng, in which she gives details about her sex life. “She’s an interesting lady,” the Union Street shop owner said. “And now everyone knows it.”

QC Bandit?

Look out Flushing Savings. Queens College’s next president may go to all lengths – legal and illegal – to raise money for the CUNY School. Or, at the very least, he may have a good sense of humor.

At an April 5 public forum at the school’s Flushing campus, QC presidential candidate Dr. James Muyskens was asked how he would go about raising money for the school, which has had money issues in the past. Although he went on to discuss an intelligent and in-depth plan for creating new programs and improving school technology to help the school become more attractive to donors and alumni, his initial reaction was not quite as level-headed.

With a smirk, Muyskens responded to the question, “What methods would you use to raise money for the school,” with the answer, “Rob a bank?” Of course, he quickly stated, “Just kidding,” and made sure that everyone knew it was just a joke.

Everyone’s a comedian.
